“Access to our Creator through our Savior is surely one of the great privileges and blessings of our lives. I have learned from countless personal experiences that great is the power of prayer. No earthly authority can separate us from direct access to our Creator. There can never be a mechanical or electronic failure when we pray. There is no limit on the number of times or how long we can pray each day. There is no quota of how many needs we wish to pray for in each prayer. We do not need to go through secretaries or make an appointment to reach the throne of grace. He is reachable at any time and any place.” The Lifeline of Prayer, Ensign, May 2002, 5
Richard G. Scott
"A key to improved prayer is to learn to ask the right questions. Consider changing from asking for the things you want to honestly seeking what He wants for you. Then as you learn His will, pray that you will be led to have the strength to fulfill it." "Using the Supernal Gift of Prayer," Ensign, May 2007, 8

"As a people, aren't we grateful that family prayer is not an out-of-date practice with us? There is no more beautiful sight in all this world than to see a family praying together. There is real meaning behind the oft-quoted 'The family that prays together stays together.' "Come unto Him in Prayer and Faith," Ensign, Mar. 2009, 5
David A. Bednar
'Prayer is the act by which the will of the Father and the will of the child are brought into correspondence with each other' (Bible Dictionary, "Prayer," 752-53). Humble, earnest, and persistent prayer enables us to recognize and align ourselves with the will of our Heavenly Father. And in this the Savior provided the perfect example as He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, 'saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. . . . And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly' (Luke 22:42, 44)." "Ask in Faith," Ensign, May 2008, 96-97
Gordon B. Hinckley
“Family prayer, that is a practice, once very common, that is largely disappearing. I believe that the very act of people supplicating the Lord in prayer, night and morning, would have a most salutary effect upon our civilization and our lives.” Inspirational Thoughts, Ensign, Apr. 2002, 5
Russell M. Nelson
"For each of you to receive revelation unique to your own needs and responsibilities, certain guidelines prevail. The Lord asks you to develop 'faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God.' Then with your firm 'faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, [and] diligence,' you may ask, and you will receive; you may knock, and it will be opened unto you (D&C 4:5“6; emphasis added)." "Ask, Seek, Knock," Ensign, Nov. 2009, 83
Ezra Taft Benson
"For what should we pray? We should pray about our work, against the power of our enemies and the devil, for our welfare and the welfare of those around us. We should counsel with the Lord regarding all our decisions and activities. (See Alma 37:36–37.) We should be grateful enough to give thanks for all we have. (See D&C 59:21.) We should confess His hand in all things." "Pray Always," Ensign, Feb. 1990, 4
Neil L. Anderson
"Gain your own testimony of the Savior. Pray passionately. Read the Book of Mormon when no one is watching. Take time alone to think about who Jesus really is and how His life and sacrifice are important to you.” "Beware of the Evil behind the Smiling Eyes," Ensign, May 2005, 47-48
Jeffrey R. Holland
"I ask everyone within the sound of my voice to take heart, be filled with faith, and remember the Lord has said He 'would fight [our] battles, [our] children's battles, and [the battles of our] children's children' (D&C 98:37; emphasis added). And what do we do to merit such a defense? We are to 'search diligently, pray always, and be believing. [Then] all things shall work together for [our] good, if [we] walk uprightly and remember the covenant wherewith [we] have covenanted' (D&C 90:24). The latter days are not a time to fear and tremble. They are a time to be believing and remember our covenants." "The Ministry of Angels," Ensign, Nov. 2008, 30

"I can think of no greater teaching to our children than that of the power of prayer. We should do it by example, and take our children daily before the Lord and give them the peace and assurance that can come from knowing they are a child of our Father in Heaven.” "Our Father Which Art in Heaven," Ensign, Nov. 1983, 13
I am so thankful for the power of prayer. I can have a direct conversation with my Father. When I feel bad, or down, I can move forward and do what I need because I receive strength from Him. Prayer is a great way to connect and receive revelation also. It is often that I sit and pray and listen that I can feel that peace that only prayer can bring to me. I am so thankful for this lifeline that I have to my Father in Heaven.
